Teaching Cultural Diversity |
|
Teaching cultural diversity involves several planes of understanding and
acceptance. One crucial key is self-identity. It is difficult to approach cross-cultural
understanding unless we first recognize who we are as individuals. We must
find our strengths and weaknesses and take an honest and bold look at how we
perceive the issues and people around us. Diversity training workshops that
involve identity exercises are one method to begin this unraveling.
The next steps for teaching cultural diversity are also easier to achieve through diversity training. InterPlay custom tailors diversity workshops that are ideal for teaching these concepts. An enhanced awareness of cultural differences can lead to open communication that contributes to the enrichment of building relationships between people from diverse backgrounds. InterPlay's workshops, however, start by immediately engaging participants in dialogue that addresses cultural diversity issues. Therefore, this level of open communication practiced throughout the diversity training exercises leads to the increased awareness and embracing of cultural differences. Some people immediately focus on the differences of various cultures. Even though our differences should be respected and learned from, interactive diversity training can help us to see our similarities, too. InterPlay provides a platform with our diversity workshops that takes participants to an entirely new level of cultural understanding. Embracing the similarities, as well as cultural differences, helps identity to be recognized more clearly. Strengths can then be embraced and inspire. Helping your employees to become more culturally aware and to embrace each other's differences will add new dimensions and endless possibilities to your work environment.
