Anti-Bullying Best Practices

The number one way to stop bullying in schools is to "focus on the social environment of the school," according to the US Department of Health and Human Services. "In order to reduce bullying, it is important to change the social climate of the school and the social norms with regards to bullying." By involving everyone at the school, students, teachers, administrators, and staff, you can begin to address and inspire positive social change.

By changing the social environment, you will begin to change the relationship between bullies, victims, and bystanders. When you involve everyone in activities and conversation, you build bridges of understanding, create trust, and help with successful conflict resolution.

InterPlay workshops actively engage youth in dialogue and problem solving about bullying. Students engage in games, storytelling, and interactive performances that directly address issues specific to your school. Unlike large school assemblies or guest speakers, InterPlay anti-bullying programs are intimate, working with small groups to ensure that every student is actively engaged in learning, dialogue, and problem-solving.
